| Margaux Camaya Best Cebu Personal Blogger of 2021 |
In November 2021, I was named one of the Top Cebu Bloggers by the Best Cebu Blogs Awards. It was my fourth time to be nominated and winning the Best Cebu Personal Blogger category is one of the highlights of my blogging career. There have been a lot of high points and low points since I officially started as a blogger in 2015.
I'm not a full-time blogger. As much as I would want to dedicate a huge portion of my time to creating content for my blog as well as my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/margauxcamaya), I can't as my real life is as important as fanning my creative soul. I love what I do in my career and I also can't live without my personal relationships.
It was just unfortunate that when I won the BCBA 2021 Award, it was still the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic and social gatherings were still being discouraged. My trophy which is shaped like a Cebu guitar was delivered to me instead. I was planning to write a "Thank You" blog post when Super Typhoon Odette landed in Cebu and life was not normal until many months after.
For the year 2022, I paused a little bit in writing and vlogging as the 'new normal' in our everyday lives took over. It became challenging to maintain a steady stream of creative output as well as commit to brand and blogging events. I do miss the blogging world but priorities somewhat changed during the past few years. I do continue to advocate Philippine History, Books (mostly Filipiniana), and Food. I'll never lose interest in talking about these genres.
Almost two years have passed since winning the BCBA award but I think it's never too late to say 'Thank you' to everyone who made it possible.
I would like to take this time to thank the Best Cebu Blogs Award (BCBA) and Mark Monta for inspiring countless Cebuano and Cebu-based content creators. I'd also like to give a big shoutout to the Sponsors of the 14th Best Cebu Blog Award for believing in and appreciating the BCBA 2021 winners and nominees. I'd also like to thank everyone who continues to read my blog posts and never get tired of the topics that I talk about.
But, what I am most grateful for is my collaborator for the past five years; my number one supporter; the one person who continues to push me to make blog posts and videos; who's been the person behind the scenes --- Nine Gabrillo. It wouldn't be possible to finally win the 2021 BCBA Award after being nominated four times without her being my top cheerleader and motivator.

At the start of 2023, I slowly started adding posts to my blog, www.thevisualtraveler.net. I'm also collating ideas to revive my YouTube channel. Hopefully, I'll be able to tell more meaningful stories that would encourage and inspire others.
