Poetry at the Park: Love's Philosophy by Percy Bysshe Shelley

For our new episode of Poetry at the Park, we are featuring Percy Bysshe Shelley's love poem, Love's Philosophy.

The tumultuous life of English poet, Shelley, was romanticized by his affair and marriage to Mary Goodwin (Shelley); plus his friendship with George Gordon, Lord Byron.

Percy Bysshe Shelley was born in 1792 and died in 1822. Shelley was not conventional whether in his views, politics or even in his love life.

He died tragically by drowning and his remains were created on the beach. His ashes were buried in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome. Legend has it that the remains of his heart which didn't burn were kept by his wife, Mary Shelley.
