Cebu's Peso Store is your true dollar store authority. It is patterned after the successful Dollar Stores which are scattered all across the U.S.A landscape. All things are priced at 88 Pesos whether it's a humongous bottle of shampoo or a bunch of hair ties.
Their inventory might be slightly different from what you can usually find in those big membership club supermarkets. But they guarantee that they only sell American-made or American products.
Peso Store is the 21st Century version of the PX store. It was once the go-to place for anything 'Made in the U.S.A.' For the millennials, you might want to ask your elders what a PX store is.
My expectation when I go to the Peso Store |
I found the value of having a Peso Store within reach when I had to look for a shoe cushion for my aching feet.
On a typical day, I'd spend about four hours on my feet. It's important that my footwear should be as comfortable as possible. I own a pair of leather loafers that was giving me some sole problems.
One particular afternoon, I couldn't bear the discomfort so I decided to go to the Peso Store located in our building to check if there was anything that could help alleviate the soreness.
I was in luck because they had a bunch of therapeutic shoe inserts available when I went there. Those cushions literally saved my day!
Over the course of my visits to the Peso Store, I've bought stuff that are either a need or a want. If I was craving for something sweet or salty, I would drop by to check what chips or chocolates they currently have. There was even an instance that I bought spaghetti sauce when I saw that they had some in stock.
I also like how you can purchase just one or two items at a time. You're not tempted to overspend.
I discovered that buying non-food items like dishwashing liquid soap, detergent, fabric softener or lotion are more practical since you get your money's worth.
My reality shopping |
The layout of their stores make it easy to spot things. You can be in and out of the store hassle-free. And if you're a frequent shopper, you get to have a Suki card. You get good deals on 'Crazy Mondays'.
Another plus, they accept Major Debit and Credit cards aside from Cash.
The Peso Store has seven branches in Metro Cebu: E-Parkmall (Mandue City), eBloc Tower 1 (Cebu IT Park), The Persimmon Plus (Mabolo), 4J Building (Gen. Maxilom Ave.), Streetscape (Banilad), and The Outlets at Pueblo Verde (Lapu-Lapu City).
