"There is no sincerer love than the love of food."
Filipinos love their buffets. Nowadays, you see families and friends celebrate special occasions by having buffet parties. There has been a growing number of restaurants and hotels specializing in buffet spreads. The grander, the better. But the consequence of having more food is that the price also goes up.
Say hello to my little friend. A bellylicious companion |
The Visual Traveler has collaborated with Cebu Marriott and we are providing our blog readers a promotional rate for the hotel's International Lunch and Dinner Buffets. We're also including discounts at the Great Room Lobby Bar and Pool bar.
The partnership is a way of thanking you, dear readers, for your support.
I've tried both the International Lunch and "Flavors of Asia" Dinner buffets at the Garden Cafe. And I must say, I've discovered new food dishes every time.
There are 3 new dishes that are becoming popular with the guests.
Sisig Station
This is truly a unique Filipino creation. The chef-on-duty prepares 3 kinds of Sisig that apeals to different dietary restrictions. You can order pork or squid or tofu as the main ingredients of your Sisig.
Filipino-Italian, anyone?
I recently tried this food fusion that used parts of a roasted lechon belly for their Aglio e Olio pasta. Add in some capers and red chili flakes and the result is a super savory spaghetti. Pair it with a couple of toasted bread and you won't resist having another plateful.
Who says you can't have your lechon and eat it too?!
Have a Crepe Day
I'm not a dessert kind of person but I always look forward to creating my own crepe plate. And I'm so happy that the crepe station is now an integral part of the dinner set-up.
I ate like 3 different flavored crepes tonight. But I always gravitate to that crepe that is filled with mango puree and sprinkled with more mango and chocolate syrup.
All-time favorites
Unlimited drinks, fresh fruits, Sashimi, Baked salmon, curry station, grilled meats and seafood --- these are a few of my favorite things.
