After three years of cooking and baking lasagna, making deliveries, posting and advertising on Instagram and Facebook, selling her food in bazaars, Shing has finally established her roots in Cebu's Makan Ahooy Food Kiosk located in Salinas Avenue, Lahug.
Named after her daughters, Xia and Xeb, Lasagne Que is truly a labor of love. Shing took her Mom's beloved recipes for Lasagna and Leche Flan and created a food business that created a buzz in Cebu. Her main focus is on the food that she grew up with. She also created another delicious dessert, Oreo Ice Cream, which I'm thinking her daughters love to have as their snack.
I know for a fact how challenging it is to make lasagna. I've tried it several times but haven't perfected it. But tasting Lasagne Que's version, they make it seem so easy. I love the crust on top which the cheese makes when baked properly. The inside is still creamy and cheesy. The pasta still al dente. The seasoning is something that Filipinos will love.
I'm not a huge fan of Leche Flan, but I like the consistency and texture of their flan. Plus, it's not overly sweet. As to their Iced Tea and Calamansi drinks, they come in these cute bottles which I wanted to bring home. Unfortunately, it's just for dine-in customers to enjoy.
Xia's and Xeb's Lasagne Que is available in different sizes. On-site at their food kiosk at Makan Ahooy, they offer single-serve at 100php which comes with two pieces of toast. The other size is their family-size which is good for about 3-5 people. If you're going to a party or pot-luck, you can order for bigger-sized lasagna.
