I just currently discovered L.A. Noire which is set in 1940's Los Angeles. We follow Cole Phelps from his Patrol Beat to his promotion to Detective. We also see flashbacks from his time in the Pacific War of World War II. We experience his journey to the seedy side of law enforcement and being a victim of the system.
L.A. Noire had the vibe of the movie L.A. Confidential and almost all of the detective movies made in the 40's and 50's. You can play the game in black and white to get the true measure of the noir movies.
Similar to any Rockstar games, you get to drive numerous vehicles, search for hidden film reels and solve street crimes that will help you achieve a completion rate towards the game.
