This is the main theme of Magic Phonograph, the second instalment of GMA Network's Christmas Station ID for the year 2016. It's a groundbreaking concept since the Network decided to use animation instead of the usual plethora of celebrities.
Magic ng Pasko tells the stories of different families living in one town. It's all about love, hope and believing in the magic of Christmas.
The first part, Magic Crayons, was all about a daughter longing to see her father who is working abroad. She uses her crayons to fulfill her wish.
The Story
Magic Phonograph tells the story of a married couple who are in their golden years. They are at dinner and the look that they give each other convey a certain kind of sadness. The husband decided to play some music using their old phonograph when suddenly they are transformed by the music coming from it. They start to dance and good memories started coming back.
We are seeing a lot of nuclear families getting smaller and smaller as our society progresses into the 21st Century. For most Filipino families, the basic social structure has slowly changed.
It doesn't matter how big or small your family is. What is important is you celebrate your life with people you love. That is the essence of Christmas
The Song
When the first part was initially aired, people were clamoring for the entire song since the melody was very moving.
Folks won't be disappointed since there's more to the song lyrics this time around.
The theme song of this year’s Christmas campaign is sung by Julie Anne San Jose with lyrics written by BJ Camaya and Nicolle Castillo and music composed by Len Calvo and Ann Figueroa.
